Miracle of a Hug

This is a picture from an article called
"The Rescuing Hug". The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently, each were in their respective incubators, and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby's heart rate stabilized and her temperature rose to normal.

Let us not forget to embrace those whom we love and never underestimate the power of a hug.

Moses with the computer!!!..this is just so adorable!lol!:)

"Excuse me, Sir."

"Is that you again, Moses?"

"I'm afraid it is, Sir."

"What is it this time, Moses; more computer problems?"

"How did you guess?"

"I don't have to guess, Moses. Remember?"

"Oh, yes; I forgot."

"Tell me what you want, Moses."

"But you already know; remember?"

"Moses!"

"Sorry, Sir."

"Well, go ahead, Moses; spit it out."

"Well, I have a question, Sir. You know those 'ten things' you sent me?"

"You mean the Ten Commandments, Moses?"

"That's it. I was wondering if they were important."

"What do you mean 'were important', Moses? Of course, they are
important. Otherwise, I would not have sent them to you."

"Well - sorry, Sir, but I lost them. I could say the dog ate them;
but, of course, you would see right through that."

"What do you mean 'you lost them'? Are you trying to tell me
you didn't save them, Moses?"

"No, Sir; I forgot."

"You should always save, Moses."

"Yes, I know. You told me that before. I was going to, but I forgot.
I did send them to some people before I lost them though."

"And did you hear back from any of them?"

"You already know I did. What about the one guy who said he never
uses 'shalt not'? May he change the words a little bit?"

"Yes, Moses, as long as he does not change the meaning."

"And what about the guy who thought your stance was a little harsh,
and recommended calling them the 'Ten Suggestions,' or letting
people pick one or two to try for a while?"

"Moses, I will act like I did not hear that."

"I think that means 'no.' Well, what about the guy who said
I was scamming him?"

"I think the term is 'spamming,' Moses."

"Oh, yes. I e-mailed him back and told him I don't even eat that stuff,
and I have no idea how you can send it to someone through a computer."

"And what did he say?"

"You know what he said. He used Your name in vain. You don't think he
might have sent me one of those - er - plagues, and that's the reason
I lost those ten things, do you?"

"They are called 'viruses,' Moses."

"Whatever! This computer stuff is just too much for me. Can we just go
back to those stone tablets? It was hard on my back taking them out
and reading them each day, but at least I never lost them."

"We will do it the new way, Moses."

"I was afraid you would say that, Sir."

"Moses, what did I tell you to do if you messed up?"

"You told me to hold up this rat and stretch it out toward the computer."

"It's a mouse, Moses. Mouse! Mouse! And did you do that?"

"No, I decided to try the technical support first. After all, who knows
more about this stuff than you, and I really like your hours. By the way,
Sir, did Noah have two of these mice on the ark?"

"No, Moses."

"One other thing. Why did you not name them 'frogs' instead of 'mice,'
because did you not tell me the thing they sit on is a pad?"

"I did not name them, Moses. Man did, and you can call yours
a frog if you want to."

"Oh, that explains it. Kind of like Adam, huh, Sir? I bet some woman
told him to call it a mouse. After all, was it not a woman who named
one of the computers Apple?"

"Say good night, Moses."

"Wait a minute, Sir. I am stretching out the mouse, and it seems to
be working. Yes, a couple of the 'ten things' have come back."

"Which ones are they, Moses?"

"Let me see. 'Thou shalt not steal from any grave an image'
and 'Thou shalt not uncover thy neighbor's wife.'"

"Turn the computer off, Moses.
I'm sending you another set of stone tablets."

God knows best!

I got this poem from my friend's blogs which he got from his friend's blog too :)
it's really nice. I believe God was talking to me while I was reading this.

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, to have a
deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and
exclusively.

But God says, "No, not until you are satisfied and fulfilled and
content with living, loved by ME ALONE, with giving yourself totally
and unreservedly to ME ALONE. I love you, my child, and until you
discover that ONLY in me is your satisfaction to be found, you will
not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned
for you. You will never be united with another until you are united
with me, exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other
desires or longings.

"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow me to give you
that most thrilling plan existing, one that you can't imagine. I want
you to have the BEST! Please allow me to bring it to you. You just
keep watching me, expecting that satisfaction, expecting the greatest
things, and know that I Am. Keep learning and listening to the things
I tell you. YOU MUST WAIT!

"Don't be anxious. Don't worry. Don't look around at the things others
have received. Don't look at the things you think you want. You just
keep looking off and away up to me, or you'll miss what I want to show
you.

"And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love far more
wonderful than you would ever imagine. I am working this very minute
to have both of you ready at the same time, until you are both
satsifeid exclusively with me and the life I have planned and prepared
for you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplifies
your relationship with me... and this is perfect love.

"Dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love. I want you to
see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with me and to enjoy
materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty and
perfection and love that I offer you with myself. Know that I love you
utterly. I am God Almighty. Believe and be satisfied."

Just something to ponder on :D

Letting go doesn't mean giving up... it means moving on. It is one of the hardest things a person can do. Starting at birth, we grasp on to anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we will cease to exist when we let go. We feel that letting go is giving up, quitting, and that as we all know is cowardly. But as we grow older we are forced to change our way of thinking. We are forced to realize that letting go means accepting things that cannot be. It means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so. -Kei J.

I' m no superhero, though I once dreamed to be one. Having super powers is not the only requirement to become a superhero, as what Uncle Ben told Peter Parker, "with great power comes great responsibilities." We all have our special powers, we may not notice it but each one of us has been given the power to love, to care and to help each other. We don't need to be like spideman to help others who are in need, we don't need to be like the incredibles to offer our helping hands to others. All we need to do is to share this little gift God has given to us and become a hero in our own little ways. We are responsible to God by how well we use these gifts that He has given us.
You might be wondering why im talking about this stuff. Well..nothing much, I just love the feeling of helping others, especially those you don't know and just feel that they need your help. I love helping people especially those that are close to me. But this morning while I was walking at around 7 am, God really made me so happy when I helped a little girl on her way to school. I don't want to narrate what really happened, but I just want to thank God that He made me a blessing to that little girl. As we parted our ways (me and the girl), God painted a smile on my face and that really made my day.
Now, see what I mean being a hero in our own little ways? All we need to do is to see Christ in other people and be sensitive to their needs, may it be a smile, a hug, a praise or even financial needs. Never cease helping others and loving God.

Seeking God's Kingdom

As I arrived at the office I immediately turned on my pc and browse through my bookmarks and clicked on biblegateway.com. This is the first thing I do every morning, read God's word first before I start with my work.
Today I read Matthew 6:33 which says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Seeking God in happy and comfortable situations is easy but when we are in trouble and in painful circumstances of our lives, God seems to be distant and out of reach. It is really hard to praise God if you're in the middle of a dilemma. Have your experienced that? Praising God even though it's hard? I think that's one of the things we should learn. That even if we are overwhelmed by our problems, we still have the time to look up and give praises and thanks to God. Because it's in these timse that we need Him more and it's in these times that He wants to be with us.
Matthew 6:33 gives us the wisdom that if we want to have the things that we desire in our lives we should seek God first. Making God your first priority is quite hard if you're not used to it. But if you always exercise that, it would be easy, so much easy even if we are drowned with trials. I remember one illustration that most of us have experienced, its with giving. If we are not used to tithing, then it would be harder to give when we are short of finances. That's why I myself have developed the love for giving. Since I As what the bible says, if we put God first in everything, we will have what we need. So even though i really need the money, I know God would be more happy and even bless me with more if I give to Him first. Some people can't just understand this logic of Christians hehe, but we know that sacrificing for God is always the best choice.

A Child's Prayer

Dear God, are You still awake?
Have you got a minute or two?
You're pretty good at understanding
And I really need to talk to You.

You see, Mommy came to tuck me in,
Like she does every night.
I was trying to play a trick on her,
Since she can't see without the light.

I was going to close my eyes,
And pretend to be asleep.
But when I heard her crying,
I didn't dare let out a peep.

She started talking to you, God.
Did you hear the things she said?
Could You hear what she was saying
As she stood beside my bed?

Why would Mommy be so sad?
I wondered just what I had done,
And then I began to remember it all
As she named them one by one...

This morning we worked in the garden,
But, honest, I really didn't know
That if I picked all the little yellow blooms,
The tomatoes wouldn't grow!

Charlie and I were trying to be helpers,
'Cause I know that's what Mommy needs,
But I don't think she was too happy with us
When we pulled up carrots instead of weeds.

Mommy said we should stop for the day,
She decided we had helped quite enough.
I sure had worked up an appetite...
I didn't know gardening was so tough!

We had peanut-butter and jelly for lunch,
And I shared too much, I guess...
But I didn't realize until I was done
That Charlie had made such a mess.

Mommy said she needed a nap,
She had one of her headaches today.
She told me to keep an eye on my sister
And find something quiet to play.

Well, God, do You remember all those curls
You gave my little sister Jenny?
We played barber shop...very quietly...
And now, well, she doesn't have any.

Boy, was Mommy mad at me...
I had to go sit on my bed.
She said never to cut "people hair" again.
I guess I'll practice on Charlie instead.

We sat and watched poor old Albert,
I just knew he must be so bored
Going round and round in the same place all day,
Wouldn't You think so, Lord?

I didn't think it would hurt to let him out for a while,
I mean, mice need exercise, too
By the way, have You seen Albert lately?
He's been sort of missing since two.

Mommy sent us outside for the rest of the day.
She said we needed fresh air.
But when Daddy came home she told him
She was trying to get something out of her hair.

We thought Mommy needed cheering up,
So we decided to brighten her day.
But, God, did You see the look on her face
When we gave her that pretty bouquet?

We had gotten a little bit dirty,
So Mommy said to get in the tub
"Use soap this time," she reminded,
"and please don't forget to scrub."

Charlie didn't like the water too much,
But I lathered up real good.
I knew Mommy would be so proud of me
For cleaning up like I should.

I went downstairs to the table,
But during dinner it started to rain...
I'd forgotten to turn off the water, it seems,
And I hadn't unplugged the drain!

I decided right then it was just about time
To start getting ready for bed,
When Mommy said, "It's sure been a long day,"
And her face began turning all red.

I lay listening to Mommy,
As she told You about our day.
I thought about all of the things I had done
And I wondered what I should say.

I was just about to tell her
That I'd been awake all along,
And ask her to please forgive me
For all of those thing I'd done wrong.

When suddenly, I heard her whisper,
"God, forgive me for today...
For not being more understanding
When those problems came my way..."

"For not handling situations
In the way You want me to...
For getting angry and losing my temper,
Things I know You don't want me to do..."

"And, God, please, give me more patience,
Help me make it through another day,
I'll do better tomorrow, I promise...
In Jesus' name I pray."

Wiping her eyes, she kissed me
And knelt here beside my bed.
She strokes my hair for a little while...
"I love you, precious," Mommy said.

She left the room with out ever knowing
That I'd been awake all the time.
And God, could we make it our little secret?
You know, Just Yours and mine?

I'm sorry I was so much trouble today.
I really didn't mean to be...
Daddy says it's tough being a kid sometimes,
But I think it's harder on Mommy than me.

Well, goodnight, God. Thanks for listening.
It's sure nice to know You're there.
I feel so much better when I talk to You
'Cause You always hear my prayer.

And I'll do better tomorrow, I promise...
Just You wait and see!
I'll try not to be so much trouble again,
But, God, please give more patience to Mommy just, in case, for me?!

Brothers' Love

Two brothers worked together on the family farm. One was married and had a large family. The other was single. At the day's end, the brothers shared everything equally, produce and profit.

Then one day the single brother said to himself, "It's not right that we should share equally the produce and the profit. I'm alone and my needs are simple." So each night he took a sack of grain from his bin and crept across the field between their houses, dumping it into his brother's bin.

Meanwhile, the married brother said to himself, "Its not right that we should share the produce and the profit equally. After all, I'm married and I have my wife and my children to look after me in years to come. My brother has no one, and no one to take care of his future." So each night, he took a sack of grain and dumped it into his single brother's bin.

Both men were puzzled for years because their supply of grain never dwindled. Then one dark night the two brothers bumped into each other.

Slowly it dawned on them what was happening. They dropped their sacks and embraced one another.

Don't miss the boat.

Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Plan ahead. It wasn't raining
when Noah built the Ark.

Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone
may ask you to do something really big.

Don't listen to critics; just get on with
the job that needs to be done.

Build your future on high ground.

For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

Speed isn't always an advantage.
The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

When you're stressed, float a while.

Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs;
the Titanic by professionals.

No matter the storm, when you are with God,
there's always a rainbow waiting.

An elderly woman had just returned to
her home from an evening of religious
service when she was startled by an
intruder. As she caught the man in the
act of robbing her home of its valuables,
she yelled, "Stop! Acts 2:38!"
(...turn from your sin...)
The burglar stopped dead in his tracks.
Then the woman calmly called the police
and explained what she had done.
As the officer cuffed the man to take him in,
he asked the burglar, "Why did you just
stand there? All the old lady was yell
a scripture at you."
"Scripture?" replied the burglar,
"She said she had an axe and two 38s!"
