Is it worth it?

I've been searching the internet for an hour (along with doing my task of course ;)) for a good story to post for my blog. I've read many inspirational stories but I don't think they're fitted for today's post. I keep on searching and I found this story from http://www.inspirationallane.com. It's simple and has a very nice message. It's not just about friends but it is about every decision we make in our lives. So read on and think about it.

Horror gripped the heart of the World War 1 soldier as he saw his lifelong friend fall in battle. Caught in a trench with continuous gunfire whizzing over his head, the soldier asked his lieutenant if he might go out into the "no man's land" between the trenches to bring his fallen comrade back.

"You can go," said the lieutenant, "but i don't think it will be worth it. Your friend is probably dead and you may throw your life away." The lieutenant's advice didn't matter, and the soldier went anyway. Miraculously he managed to reach his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder and bring him back to their company's trench. As the two of them tumbled in together to the bottom of the trench, the officer checked the wounded soldier, and then looked kindly at his friend.

"I told you it wouldn't be worth it," he said. "Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded." "It was worth it, though, sir," said the soldier. "What do you mean; worth it?" responded the Lieutenant. "Your friend is dead" "YES, Sir" the private answered. "But it was worth it because when i got to him, he was still alive and i had the satisfaction of hearing him say, "JIM........, I KNEW YOU'D COME."

Many times in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really depends on how u look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret not doing it later in your life.."May each and every one of you be blessed with the company of TRUE FRIENDS." "A true friend is one who walks in, when the rest of the world walks out." War doesn't determine who's right. War only determines who's left.

keeping in touch

Today I was quite bored with my tasks ;) so I went blog hopping. I love reading blogs but I seldom leave a comment. Today I learned that every comment on blog posts ads color to a blogger's day. So I browsed some of my favorite blogs and leave a few words just to let them know I dropped by and I love their posts.

I think this simple act is not only applicable in blogs or friendster comments but it goes much deeper into relationships. It is keeping in touch with your friends and loved ones. Yes, they know we're here, they know we exist but there's nothing better than always telling your friends you appreciate them or letting them know you always care through text messages, emails, comments, a call or even a letter. These simple ways makes friendship and relationships stronger.

To all my friends, thank you! You've made me who I am today and I will always treasure every moment that we've spent.

8 Random Facts about me:
1. The hardest question I have to answer is when I'm asked to tell me about myself. It's best to ask people around me or my friends, they know me better than I know myself ;) So this'll be tough!
2. I have no night life (like junelle :D)
3. saturdays and sundays are family and church time. You can always find me at church during saturday afternoon and sunday morning.
4. I went to movie theaters once every 3 years!haha kidding..but i really go to movie theaters very seldom.
5. For 9 years of my stay here in the city..i only failed to go home for 5 weekends.
6. The first time I rode a roller coaster, I cried (that's probably 11 years ago). My younger brother and sister were mad at me because they loved it! But they can't, they're big sister was afraid hahaha :D Now I love riding roller coasters!!
7. I love making myself cry (this is weird!!!I find it weird, really)
8. I once can't sleep without lights. Until i was 13, we used to keep a gas lamp in our room. I'm scared when its totally dark, I feel like drowning or something.

Well, I finished it, but to tell you, it got me 6 hours to finish this post :)

A Miracle

Early today, when I arrived at the office, I opened my email and found this message from a friend. At first I thought it was just another chain letter but when I read through it I was amazed not only by the story itself but by how Jesus can work in really mysterious ways just to let the people know that He really loves us.

A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife and then buried her with their infant baby and 8-year old daughter. The girls were buried alive! He then reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later, another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls under the sand - ALIVE !

The country is outraged over the incident, and the man will be executed. The older girl was asked how she had survived. "A man wearing shiny white clothes, with bleeding wounds in his hands, came every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so she could nurse my sister," she said.

She was interviewed on Egyptian national TV, by a veiled Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, "This was none other than Jesus, because nobody else does things like this!"

Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and it's clear also that He is alive! But, it's also clear that the child could not make up a story like this, and there is no way these children could have survived without a true miracle. Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie
doesn't help! With Egypt at the center of the media and education in the Middle East , you can be sure this story will spread. Christ is still turning the world upside down!

The Lord says, "I will bless the person who puts his trust in me." (Jeremiah 17:7)

Is man good or evil?

I first encountered this question when I was in high school. We were asked to write an essay answering the question, "Is man good or evil?"

When I answered this, I was sure and convinced that man by nature is good since we were created from the image and likeness of God. I always believed in that until my brother wrote this essay.

Man by nature is evil. Nature is defined as inherent tendencies of a person or in other words "instinct." Instincts are acts where thinking or reasoning is excluded. This is sometimes referred to as "gut feeling" or for women it's "women's intuition." In example, if someone throws a stone at you, "instinctively" what will you do? Without thinking, we would respond to this in the same manner and would throw back a stone. Other examples are; when we were born, they say that our clenched fist symbolizes our greediness, any person abused or hurt would result to violence, revenge and hate. Our nature or flesh (as in the bible), which is evil will never get along with the spirit, which is good. Gal. 5:16-17 says, "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For⁽ the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do."
I say man in nature is evil because the bible says in gal. 5:19, "You know what comes from the flesh: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality... jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21envy, drunkenness, etc." The word "comes" from the flesh tells us that the things are inherent to the flesh, while on the spirit they are referred to as fruits, which means something that takes time, effort and is a result. One saying often heard is "there is always a good in every man," which explains that human is full of evil but the spirit convicts us to do good.
If man by nature is good, what comes into our mind when we see our enemy? What comes out of our mouths when we are angry or insulted? What do we do when we hate someone?

Man is evil. Man is sinful and only God is good, citing the words of Jesus in Mark 10:18, "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone." That's why we need a savior to save us from the evil we are in, and we need to follow Him to be like Him; perfect and holy. Lastly, I'll quote Romans 3:10, "As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one."

Movies..movies..and great movies!

I was never a movie goer. I thought that seeing a movie at the theater is just a waste of money. I can rent a vcd/dvd and watch it at home and spending only have the price or less.

But last week I was persuaded to watch Transformers, after 3 long years I get to enter the movie theater again!!! At first I was hesitant to watch the movie because I thought It's like the cartoon episodes I saw on tv. But when I saw the trailer on HBO, I had a second thought. Maybe I should give it a try.

After an hour and a half, I insisted to watch it again. It was fantastic! I just want to watch it again and again. The story is really nice with a combination of comedy and action.
There were no dull moments, you just want to hear and see every part of it. I also love the robots, they were so real, and I wished I had one, lol!
My money was worth it, really. I kept on convincing my friends to watch it because it's really the best!





Before my hangover with transformers was washed out, last sunday, I watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It was also great! I loved the first movie and I was sure I'm going to love this. The plot is nice with Reed and Sue's Wedding and the attack of the silver surfer. It's also full of suspense, though I quite know that Victor Doom was behind the surfer (lol!), like I thought Sue would really die and there's no more part 3 hahaha :D I also love the character of the silver surfer, he's mysterious but with a kind heart(awww).
Two great movies in a week!!! That was really fun.
I love nice movies like these. I hope we could have more of these kind.
